Monumental success for Allenby NY and Jacob Peres Office at Salone del Mobile 2018
For the seventh consecutive year, we created and produced installations that have impacted trends and attracted international media and countless visitors during the most important week in the design world-Milan Design Week.
The Diner
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of leading American magazine, Surface, we proposed the concept of the Diner – a contemporary take on the all-American iconic restaurant. Superstar architect, David Rockwell, envisioned the overall design and décor. Strategic design agency, 2×4, created the vibrant identity using inspiration from Hollywood culture.
The Diner was sold out in advance for lunch, dinner and late-night cocktails with over 40,000 guests attending throughout the week. Surface’s overall web traffic increased dramatically during the week, and their email sign up and interaction on social channels soared. The pop-up restaurant received praise from CNN ,Dezeen, Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, Designboom , Cool Hunting and many more.
The pinnacle of the week was when The Diner won the official Milan Design Award for Most Engaging Installation out of more than 2,000 installations.
Altered States
The latest installation in our longstanding collaboration with global surface manufacturer, Caesarstone. We devised, built and executed an ethereal art installation designed by New York-based collaborative design practice, Snarkitecture, at a dilapidated palazzo in the center of Milan. ‘Altered States’ reimagines the primal elements of ice, water and steam within a conceptual kitchen island.
The project was delivered start to finish by Jacob Peres Office and Allenby NY from conceptualization, management and implementation, to media tools and outreach. The installation was mentioned in all of Milan’s must-see lists including Wallpaper* magazine, Dezeen, Designboom, Vogue France, Design Milk and more. Producer: Noy Biran
